'People are afraid' - the reasons 'powerhouse' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal have become countless pundits' top picks to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Consider their performances against Fulham and Crystal Palace versus those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They lead the league for shutouts (6), shots let in (3), shots faced (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their threat from set-pieces is widely recognized, but competing clubs still find it difficult to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a daunting aura. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Claims

What is especially remarkable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the outset, having allocated around £250m on eight summer additions in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the business has so far proven successful in style, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and possessing the most resilient defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Shutouts in each of their last three Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without allowing a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with conviction and resolve.
