I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
